This Valentine's Day we are exploring the unglorified parts of love; the weird, the perverse, and the gray area in between.

Our spotlight artist, Sara Salass, explores the psychological and emotional contours of hookup culture, social media, and the objectification of women.

  

"In my Sweetheart sculptures, the candies do not feature innocent messages. Instead of reading "Soul Mate" or "Cutie Pie", my heart sculptures say things like "Just a big dicked stallion looking to get laid." All of the language sculpted into my Sweethearts is disgustingly grotesque and pulled directly from actual dating profiles. It is my hope for the work to be both funny and deeply disturbing, representing the actual problems women face in a comedic manner."   - Sara Salass 

In addition, we have featured work from Laura Collins, Molly Blumberg, Jeff Zimmermann, Bobbi Meier and more - as their work also explores the poignant side of love and relationships.
